Getting started
Vault22 brings your bank accounts, cards, loans and investments into one view, so you can see where you stand and decide what comes next. You can budget, plan your debt, invest and share with your household, with Tara to help you understand your options.
Download the app on iOS or Android, or use the web app. Create your profile, then connect your accounts to see your full picture.
Vault22 is available in South Africa and the UAE. You can link accounts from institutions in both, and view your money in any of 155+ display currencies.
Yes. 22seven became Vault22 on 31 October 2024, after merging with SC Ventures’ Autumn. You can still link your accounts and budget from your real spending, and you can now also plan your debt, invest, share with your household and ask Tara.
Plans and pricing
Yes. Free is a complete app, not a trial, and you can connect as many accounts as you like. Move to Basic or Premium when you want daily updates, your full history and lower investment fees.
Free covers budgeting, goals, Tara and weekly account updates in one region. Basic adds daily account updates, crypto exchange and wallet connections, lower investment fees and support from our team. Premium adds the lowest investment fees, accounts across multiple regions and priority support. See Pricing for the full comparison.
Yes. New customers get a 33-day free trial of the paid plans. When it ends, you choose Basic or Premium and billing starts then. If you don’t choose, you move to Free automatically and aren’t charged. We remind you 7 days, 3 days and 24 hours before your trial ends.
Upgrades happen straight away: you pay the difference for the rest of your billing period, and the new price applies from then on. Downgrades and cancellations take effect at the end of the period you’ve already paid for, or at the end of your year on annual billing.
Connecting your accounts
As many as you like, on any plan. That includes 100+ South African institutions and major UAE banks, across bank accounts, credit and store cards, loans, investments, crypto and rewards programmes. Accounts from other countries can’t be linked yet.
No. Access is read-only, so Vault22 can’t move money, make payments or complete transactions. Money only moves when you move it.
When your accounts update, Vault22 signs in to your bank on your behalf, so you may get the same notifications you’d see when signing in yourself. That’s expected.
You can add a manual account, or import a PDF statement on the web app, so your picture stays complete. If you use Capitec, statement import is the way to keep your accounts current while Capitec linking is temporarily unavailable.
Capitec linking is temporarily unavailable while we work with Capitec to restore it. In the meantime, import your Capitec statement on the web app to keep your picture current.
Security and your data
Protecting your financial information is fundamental to what we do. We use bank-level encryption and industry-standard security practices, so your data stays private, secure and under your control.
Yes. On the web app, you can export your transactions from the Transactions page, or download a Monthly Spending Report from Budget. How far back you can go depends on your plan. See Pricing for the details.
Budgets and insights
You start from suggested limits based on how you spend, then adjust them to fit your life. Set a start date that matches your payday, plan the months ahead, and get a heads-up as you get close to a limit.
Yes. You can edit or reassign any of the 50+ categories, or create your own, so your picture reflects how you actually live.
It’s a view of your overall financial health across four areas: spending, saving, borrowing and planning. It’s in beta, and it helps you see where you’re strong and what may deserve attention first.
Investing
You can start from R500, after a short risk assessment and identity check. Your investments are held in your name, with ABSA Investor Services as custodian, separate from Vault22’s own accounts.
Yes. There are no lock-in periods, and withdrawals usually reach you within two to five business days.
Yes, in the UAE. The Shariah-compliant portfolios are screened against AAOIFI standards and overseen by a qualified Shariah board.
Family Circle and Tara
Yes. With Family Circle, your household can see and plan together, with privacy settings for each member. Two existing profiles can’t be merged, so choose one as the main profile.
Tara helps you understand your spending, budget, debt, investments and goals in plain language, based on your own financial picture, so you can decide what comes next. Tara gives general financial education, not specific investment advice.
Getting help
Ask Tara in the app anytime, or get in touch with the support team through the Contact page.
Check you’re using the same details you use on your bank’s own website. If it still won’t connect, get in touch with support.
